Clem was called to the Bar in November 2015 after being admitted to practice as a solicitor in July 2014. He is entered on the Register of Practitioners of the High Court.

Prior to that he worked as a teacher at Bribie Island State High School for four years. He was also a member of the NSW Police Force for fourteen years including two years as an accident investigator, eight years as a police prosecutor, and a year assisting the NSW State Coroner. He has also worked in a number of government departments at both State and Commonwealth level as a fraud investigator, and conducted investigations into disciplinary matters.      

His areas of practice include criminal, family, administrative, personal injury, equity and trusts, and commercial.
